About the Author

 

 

Mr. McMillan owns ABJ Seminars. ABJ offers workshops focused on consumer financial health and credit management. Clients include local housing authorities, community services organizations, churches, mortgage companies, realtors and individual consumers.

Mr. McMillan is also the author of “Bad Credit Burns Money”, a consumer guide to understanding, managing and winning the battle to establish and maintain good credit.

Mr. McMillan also owns of Funding America Financial, a privately held company located in Jacksonville, Florida engaged in Mortgage Lending and Real Estate Investing.

Prior to founding Funding America, Mr. McMillan was Vice President and Director of Modeling and Credit Scoring at Citibank Universal Card (formerly AT&T Universal Card Services) where he directed the company’s Data Mining and Modeling for New Account Acquisitions, Existing Account Portfolio Management and Collections. Mr. McMillan’s group developed and monitored the predictive models, conducted the analysis and simulation to optimize the net projected economic benefits and performed the production list scoring to drive revenue producing programs that generated $2 Billion in new receivables annually.

At Universal Card, Mr. McMillan spent several years managing the production operations of its Transaction Services, which included Credit Card Processing and Mailing, Statement Processing and Mailing and incoming Payment Processing for a base of 15 million cardholders.

Mr. McMillan began his 11 year AT&T tenure with the American Transtech subsidiary, where he was a Marketing Manager and Product Manager for Direct Marketing Services. Mr. McMillan led cross functional teams that designed, developed, implemented and marketed services including Outbound Telemarketing Sales, Database Marketing and Customer Satisfaction Management. Mr. McMillan also directed the Business Development, Strategies and Promotions for these services.

Prior to joining AT&T, Mr. McMillan’s career movement traversed increasingly responsible positions in Sales and Marketing Management at Xerox Corporation, CSX Transportation and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida.

A native of Titusville, Florida, Mr. McMillan received his formal education at Florida A&M University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and a Master of Business Administration degree with an emphasis in Marketing.

Mr. McMillan has enjoyed lifelong involvement and leadership in civic and community activities. He chairs the Task for the Jacksonville Urban League Housing Initiatives Program. He founded and chaired The Alliance Scholarship fund in Jacksonville, Florida that raised nearly $100,000 in Scholarships. He was an advisor tothe Board of Directors of The Alliance of Black Telecommunications Employees, of which he is a former board member. He sponsored the Power of One Professional Training and Mentoring program in Jacksonville He is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and resides in Jacksonville, Florida with his wife and three children.
